There are several superb beaches within easy reach and Crinnis Beach at Carlyon Bay is just a short stroll from the holiday apartment. Recognised as one of the finest locations on the Cornish Riviera, Crinnis Beach is just under a mile long stretch of sand surrounded by high cliffs.

Watergate Bay is close by and is certainly worthy of a visit. The Bay boasts an excellent mile long beach, which is popular with surfers. The Beach Hut restaurant provides fresh simply cooked bistro food in an outstanding location with views across the stunning Watergate Bay Beach.

The village of Par is a short stroll from Carlyon Court, nestled in the shores of St Austell Bay. This picturesque fishing port comprises several friendly pubs, shops and restaurants and offers scenic coastal walks and cycle paths. Padstow is another local fishing port with much to offer. Padstow is situated on the beautiful and rugged North Cornwall coast with its towering cliffs, wide sandy beaches, hidden coves and beautiful countryside. Padstow is also home to four Rick Stein restaurants!

Only 1-hour away from Carlyon Court is Lands End, one of Britain's best-loved and most popular landmarks. Explore the cliff-top trails to view the stunning scenery and experience Land's End's unique natural beauty. St Austell is within close proximity of the Carlyon Court Apartment. This is a charming market town that retains much of its old character. St Austell provides a good combination of small local shops and businesses along with well-known high street stores.

Just outside of St Austell is the spectacular Eden Project. Educational charity, world-class visitor attraction, botanical garden, unique regeneration venture - the Eden Project is all of these things, and then some. It is a fantastic place that is well worth a visit.

Fowey (pronounced Foy to rhyme with Joy) is situated on the south coast of Cornwall between Looe and Mevagissey. Fowey boasts an excellent selection of quality shops and galleries, many exhibiting local works. Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), this quaint harbour town has a unique charm all of its own.

Nearby Mevagissey, Cornwall is an attractive old town which was once the centre of Cornwall's Pilchard fishery, and still boasts a working harbour with a few dozen small fishing boats. In the narrow streets there are gift shops, craft workshops, galleries, cafes and pubs, not to mention several great fish restaurants and fish & chip shops!

Also nearby you can find the Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of the most mysterious estates in England. This award-winning garden restoration is already internationally acclaimed and promises a fascinating day out.
