Lancashire has some of the most stunning scenery in the UK and there are many ways you can see it. Whether it's hiking through the hills in search of breathtaking views, cycling through the countryside and getting your blood pumping whilst taking in the fresh air or simply just going for a stroll with your loved ones to take in the scenery, there's plenty of activities to enjoy in and around Ribble Valley. 

If you don't know the area well don't worry there are plenty of guided walks, as well as nature trails and pony treks to try out whilst the weather is nice. Plus, if it's bad weather you can always head to Stirk House Hotel for a dip in the swimming pool!

Stirk House Hotel

As you may or may not know, Ribble Valley works alongside Stirk House Hotel, which is situated just three miles from the park in Gisburn. The largest forest in Lancashire, Gisburn Forest has a network of waymarked forest walks and a cycle trails. These are based on existing forest roads offering a variety of routes, with the total length of the cycle network at 16km. If you're feeling adventurous why not try all the routes? Or simply enjoy a gentle stroll in stunning surroundings with your family, you can even tire out the dog before you head home.
