Malham Tarn

This outstanding area of limestone pavements, upland hill farms and flower-rich hay meadows provide a marvellous setting for walking, cycling or just enjoying the great outdoors. You might even remember it from your school Geography trips! The National Nature Reserve is home to a unique community of rare plants and animals - the bird hide in particular is worth a visit.

What's more... there's all this on offer

If fly-fishing is your thing then look no further than the River Skirfare, just a stone’s throw from the park. Or why not take a trip to the Kilnsey Park Estate? It offers two lakes open all year round and a wealth of fish including Rainbow, Blue, Brown and Golden trout.

This part of Yorkshire is rich with history and ancient monuments. Why not visit the beautifully preserved Bolton Castle near Leyburn. This 14th Century fortification was once the prison to Mary Queen of Scots.
