A dog friendly day in Snowdonia

Henry the Springer Spaniel explores around the Snowdonia Mountain Railway, Wales and the surrounding area - located only 10 minutes away from our Brynteg Coastal & Country Retreat. Our Brynteg holiday park is completely dog-friendly whether you decided to buy a static caravan or lodge, or just take a holiday in one. The perfect day out for all the family, take a look at what Henry got up to during his time in Snowdonia.

Meet Henry

Name: Henry Wilson

Age: 13

From: West Yorkshire

My favourite things: I love walks, ginger biscuits and riding on trains!

Henry the dog

I started in Llanberis

My owners and I drove to the bottom of Snowdon to the Llanberis Station. It’s a beautiful station with amazing views surrounding it.

We chose to walk through the village and take the public footpath up the side of the track.

It was a lovely walk as long as you like hills, luckily spaniels do!

Then I went for a paddle

We walked up to the part where you can cross over the track, after first watching the train go past.

Heading over to the other side into a wooded part where we were able to view the beautiful waterfall up close, and even have a paddle in the lovely cool water!

The views were amazing

We headed back down taking in the stunning views and met a local pup and her owner at the bottom. After a quick chat about local history with her we headed back to the car.

I even got to ride a train

Next stop was to try and catch the Welsh Highland Railway (dogs allowed!) train at Rhyd Ddu, we were lucky and made it just in time.

Porthmadog was my favourite

The train took us all the way to Porthmadog, just enough time to hop off and buy fish and chips for us all to share before the journey back to Rhyd Ddu.

Before taking a quick nap

After a long day of adventure, I decided to make the most of the great Welsh countryside - and take a nap, if you ask me I just improve the views....!

A well deserved nap
