1. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden
Wander the ancient abbey ruins and awe-inspiring water garden at this World Heritage Site, right on your doorstep. Green lawns stretch down to the riverside, with a range of walks for all abilities to enjoy.
Make a day of it and soak up all the history that unfolds across the rolling hills. Find yourself the perfect spot for a picnic, get comfortable, relax and watch the world pass you by.
2. Yorkshire Dales National Park
Situated in a landscape of immense beauty, Littondale is a great base to explore the stunning scenery The Yorkshire Dales is famous for. From majestic forests and crags, to breathtaking waterfalls and underground labyrinths, there’s a plethora of routes to explore.
After a day of exploring, set up camp next to a crackling fire in one of the many pubs and tuck in to a portion of fish and chips or pie and mash with a pint of proper Yorkshire ale.
3. Forbidden Corner
Have a great day out for all the family at The Forbidden Corner, a place of adventures like you’ve never experienced before! A labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises awaits within a four acre garden in The Yorkshire Dales!
4. Grassington Village
Whilst in the area, pay a visit to this beautiful village in Upper Wharfedale. A great base for exploring the scenic routes in and around the village, a wander round some of the local independent shops then finishing off the day with a warm welcome and hearty meal in one of the local pubs.
5. Emmerdale Farm
If you’re a soaps fan, why not visit the Emmerdale filming locations? Stay close to park and visit the original filming location in Arncliffe or head further afield and jump in the car for a guided tour and a drink at The Woolpack Inn in Esholt, just an hour away!
