At Park Leisure, we’re proud champions of the staycation. Our 11 luxury locations are handpicked for their stunning surroundings, meaning you’ll be guaranteed a slice of England’s (or Wales’!) finest coast or countryside.

At our Par Sands park, there’s no shortage of nearby activities to get involved with, or sights to marvel at. If you’re a lodge owner or prospective holiday maker and considering a trip to Par Sands, what is there to do?

The activities we’ve listed below make us truly proud of our beautiful, unspoiled English surroundings in the St Austell area. Do they convince you to break free at Par Sands? 🇬🇧👇

1. Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps

What better way to kick off than with one of the absolute must-see, most popular places on the Cornish coast? It’s been popular with visitors since the Victorian times for a reason...

The Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps offer magnificent walks past picture-postcard coves, windswept headlands and holiday resorts. The stretch of coast running north of Bedruthan ranks among the prettiest in the South West. Get a load of that English coastline beauty!

2. Par Beach, Fistral Beach or Perranporth Beach

England has some fantastic beaches, so make sure to enjoy one of the features that makes Cornwall so popular for tourism.

If you’re a fan of your water sports - or just a beautiful, unspoiled natural beach - Newquay’s Fistral Beach will tick the box. The so-called ‘Home of British Surfing’, this is a real gem of Cornwall, and is even recommended for its fantastic water quality.

There’s also Perranporth Beach, famed for its golden sands and watersports. And that’s not forgetting the immaculate Par Beach, which we call our home at Par Sands View Holiday Park.

3. Lappa Valley Steam Railway

Celebrate England’s superb railway heritage at Lappa Valley - there’s three separate miniature railways that run through an oasis of conservation. It is here that wildlife thrives in a protected environment.

Between the stations at Benny Halt and East Wheal Rose, the track runs on a section originally built in 1849 for a minerals railway to serve the mine at East Wheal Rose.

4. Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm

Fan of a good ol’ scrumpy cider? Celebrate one of Cornwall’s finest exports by visiting a real working cider farm which produces spirits, wines, Scrumpy, preserves and cider!

There’s plenty to do and plenty of history to absorb, making this a great day out. Take a guided tour to learn the art of cider making, join the trailer ride around orchids, meet the friendly occupants of the farm yard and perhaps visit the first distillery and combined cellars in Cornwall.

5. Trerice Elizabethan Manor House

Pay a visit to a true Cornish gem, Trerice Manor House’s! With fine interiors and it's delightful gardens remain little changed by the advances in the building fashions over the centuries; the renowned stillness and tranquility of Trerice is much prized by visitors. There’s plenty to discover, so be sure to check out their website for everything that’s on.

Thinking of visiting Cornwall?

Our luxury Par Sands park is open to its owners’ community as well as holidaymakers for short breaks. If you’re considering paying us a visit, why not explore and find out more information? The holiday home lifestyle could be for you and your family!
