There’s plenty to enjoy this Christmas in Yorkshire. Although a lot of events of cancelled or changed in some way there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy the local area and all it has to offer, whether you’re just escaping to your holiday home for a winter break or treating yourselves to a stay in a glamping pod there’s lots to see and do for Christmas in 2020.

Make the most of the outdoors this winter! Explore the grounds of Fountains Abbey where you can see the wild deer being fed, warm yourself up with a creamy mug of hot chocolate or watch the Abbeys annual music and lights event where you can see the Abbey aglow with colour. Throughout December Lightwater Valley holds it’s Christmas events. From the twinkling lights of the fairground to the giant Alice in Wonderland lanterns there’s something to keep even the biggest of kids happy this winter. With puppet shows, crazy golf, an elf hunt, market stall and lots of tasty treats to be had it makes for a great fun filled day!
Although a little different this year, you can still take the kids to meet the man himself! Father Christmas will meet his visitors outside his cabin, surrounded by toasty fires and lots of Christmas trees with twinkly lights so the kids really don’t have to miss out this year! Afterwards you can explore the Abbey and treat yourself to a nice hot chocolate.
