Park Leisure has announced the introduction of an exclusive complimentary electric bike hire scheme at its Oyster Bay park.
The partnership will see 12 Park Leisure-branded VOLT™ e-bikes available to guests, offering an exciting, environmentally friendly way to explore the surrounding North Cornish countryside. For a personalised touch, the initiative will see each bike named after a local beach in the area, including ‘Crantock’ and ‘Tolcarne’.
Holiday home owners will be able to enjoy up to 60 miles of perfectly assisted cycling in one journey, making light work of any adventures, even a ride to Newquay and back. With the extra power provided by an electric motor, the steepest of hills can be tackled with ease, providing riders the opportunity to sit back, relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.
The idea came to life after the parents of Park Leisure CEO, Miles Dewhurst, discovered VOLT™ e-bikes on a recent trip to France. He comments: “When my parents arrived home, they couldn’t stop talking about the electric bikes they used to explore on holiday – it really enriched their experience and I thought it sounded like a wonderful concept.
“We’re always on the lookout for new activities to introduce onto our parks to add to the five star experience our customers have come to expect, and we are confident this will be a welcome addition to our facilities.” Dewhurst continues, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with VOLT™, offering our guests an exciting new way to explore the park and its beautiful surroundings.”
A leading UK electric bikes manufacturer, VOLT™ produces high end, stylish e-bikes – recognised Europe-wide for their quality, reliability and performance. The bikes on offer to Park Leisure Oyster Bay holiday home owners will be the Pulse and Burlington – both featuring a powerful 250W motor to assist riders up any hill – making holiday adventures a little easier for the whole family. Complimentary bike hire will include a helmet, high visibility vest and bike lock.
The initiative has seen a £22,000 investment from Park Leisure, with Oyster Bay being the first park to trial the bikes. One of Cornwall’s most exclusive holiday home parks, Oyster Bay is just minutes from the beach and offers first-class facilities, as well as some of the most luxurious lodges in Cornwall and beyond.
