We talked recently about how important it can be for all of us to switch off from time to time, to get away from it all and unplug from our devices. With ownership and holidays at parks across the country, our 5-Star park experiences promise access to some of the most beautiful scenery and therefore the perfect backdrop for memory-making!
From beaches and mountains, to forests and moors, there’s something for everyone with Park Leisure. With that in mind, if you’re getting away this half term, or perhaps planning your luxury holiday park getaway for your Easter break, why not have a go at seeing how many you can tick off?
1. Make your own adventure
Getting the kids involved in making your activity plans is a sure-fire way to limit the foot-dragging! Have a look at the local area map on our park pages then choose three activities suited to your location and the length of their legs!
This can be anything from a beach day (even winter days can be beautiful by the coast), a woodland walk to search for birds, plants and types of tree, or try a visit to a place of historical interest like a stately home or museum. Pack a picnic, then ask the kids to choose from numbered bits of paper to select your activity for the day! Enjoy and repeat.
2. In with the old
Sometimes the oldies are the best. Make a list of activities you used to do when you were a kid and even if you’re travelling without little ones, it can be nice to take a trip down memory lane! Think responsible foraging (depending on the seasonality), playing pooh-sticks by the river, bark rubbings, sandcastle competitions and good old tree climbing (with supervision of course).
3. Rainy day fun
We all know we cannot trust the weather here in the UK, but we don’t think that should stop your fun. In the spirit of having a truly unplugged break, why not gear up and get out? Wellies and puddles are a match made in heaven and some time spent braving the rain makes returning to a cosy caravan or luxury holiday lodge even more satisfying!
4. Walk it off
Life is stressful sometimes! Why not leave behind your day-to-day routine and escape to your piece of 5-Star luxury as an act of self-care! Whether it’s a short break or a return to your home from home, there’s always more to explore.
You can find some walking routes on our other posts or speak to your on-park team for recommendations that make the most of your location. As our parks are all pet-friendly, a nice long walk will suit everyone, including your four-legged friends. Combine a walk with a homemade treasure hunt or list of things to discover and search for en-route to keep the younger walkers entertained!
5. Food safari
One thing that is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face is a good meal. We have six stunning on-park restaurants depending on where you’re staying, but if you want to bring food to the fore on your next break, why not try a food safari? There’s no better way to get a feel for a place than trying some local fayre.
Speak to our team for recommendations, or get brave: head out and try starter, main and dessert at three different locations. This slightly out-there approach to eating out means you get to sample various establishments and puts a little twist on meal times! If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, let the locals pick for you based on what they recommend.
Stay tuned for more things to see and do throughout the year across our stunning park locations. No matter who is with you, leave routine behind and get ready to explore with us.
