With the country in another lockdown it's the perfect time to get creative with baking! We know there were many banana breads made last year so why not challenge your friends and family to a virtual baking competiton...
You may have had plans with friends and families for a weekly virtual catch up or quiz so why not mix it up with a challenge this week and we will help you plan your very own 'Bake Off' party!
There are so many video conferencing apps to choose from! Google Duo, Facetime, Zoom and WhatsApp are some of the favourites. Take a look online and decide what works best for your party. Think about how many people will be joining and what device you’d prefer to view on, using a tablet or laptop is always more fun than your smartphone as you can see more of your invitees with a bigger screen.
There are many different ways you can choose your competition. Here are some different competition themes to use:
The best chocolate theme cake
A cake the represents a person in the challenge - each person can score the cake of themselves and whoever has the highest score wins!
'Copycat' cupcakes where whoever's bake looks the closest to the picture wins
The best 'animal' theme cake
Make sure everyone participating knows early enough in advance so they are able to plan their bake and purchase their ingredients.
Arrange a date and time for your virtual party and get the word out to all of your loved ones. Make sure you let them know how you’ll be hosting your party so they can make sure they have the app ready.
While you're showing off your bakes why not incorperate a quiz based on baking, taste your bakes and catch up with your loved ones!
