A lot of us this January are walking to get the fresh air we need and for some much needed exercise. We wanted to share with you how to keep warm and cosy while bracing the cold temperatures! There are so many walks right on your doorstep enabling you to explore the great outdoors.
Layering up with thinner fabrics is much more effective for keeping warm than one thicker layer. For going on a long walk in the countryside wearing thermal base layers with walking trousers and a fleece on top with your waterproof coat is sure to keep you toasty!
What to wear/pack:
Hat & scarf - As the wind at this time of year can be very cold having a hat and scarf is a must!
Walking boots - We suggest wearing walking boots in winter as appose to trainers as trails often cover different terrains and require strong, gripping footwear that’ll keep you stable.
Gloves – You may not need these but we always pack them just in case, there’s nothing worse than cold hands that you just can’t get warm! To take your warmth to the next level, hand warms are a great way to give yourself an extra boost of heat!
Flask with hot drink and food
It’s important to keep yourself fuelled and hydrated on a long winter walk so packing up some sandwiches and snacks will keep you going as you enjoy the fresh outdoors.
