Make A Gift Day

Make a gift day is celebrated on 3rd December. Instead of spending all your money this year buying endless presents, why not make them for your loved ones? Showing the person you’re gifting to all of the time, effort and love you have put into it.

There many different gifts you can make yourself at home from crafting an item, painting them a picture, simply making a card or finding something creative and elaborate. We have collated our 10 favourite crafting gifts to give you some inspiration for this Christmas.

Ideas:

  1. A token book gifting them some of your time to do something for them e.g. X1 token to clean the house, washing up for a week, date night, cinema trip.
  2. Make some Christmas baubles for each member of your family to hang on the Christmas tree. This is something that can be kept for years and be an inexpensive gift that year on year can be reminder of the time and love you put into it.
  3. Knit a chunky blanket/hat or scarf.
  4. Make some festive biscuits or treats to enjoy after Christmas dinner.
  5. A food hamper with their favourite drinks and snacks. Simply pick up a cheap wicker basket and wrap some cellophane in to make it look extra special!

Kniting

  1. Paint a mug, bowl or vase to hold their favorite drink or display in their home.
  2.  A ‘relax’ gift box with some bubbly, bath products, chocolate and a candle. This is the perfect gift for the person who is always on the go and forgets to treat themselves!
  3.  Make your own gin to gift.
  4.  Paint a picture to frame and hang in their house.
  5. Make your own candles and personalize them for each family/friend with different colours or scents!
