Our Top 5 Halloween Activities to Do This Half Term

The clocks have gone back, half term has arrived and the leaves are changing - that can only mean one thing - Halloween is just around the corner!

It’s the perfect time to wrap up warm, get outside and enjoy some crisp fresh air. Surround yourself with the rich colours of autumn, walk along a carpet of crunchy leaves and indulge in a cup of hot chocolate as you enjoy a whole host of Halloween activities.

There are plenty of spooktacular things to do around our parks this Halloween. Try out some of our favourite pastimes, you’re sure to have a fangtastic time...

1. Visit a pumpkin patch

Head down to a nearby pumpkin patch for a fun day out all the family can enjoy. Pick your very own pumpkin to carve, from traditional pumpkin faces to more elaborate designs, you can be as creative as you like! You could even paint them for a twist on the classic orange!

2. Go conker collecting

Put your wellies on, grab a bag and head out to the woods to collect some beautiful, shiny conkers. See how many you can find as you soak up some crisp fresh air! They make great autumnal decorations around candles or in vases to add a seasonal touch to your holiday home.

3. Make homemade hot chocolate

Grate some good quality dark chocolate in to some hot milk and mix well until the chocolate melts. Top with whipped cream and marshmallows for a delicious homemade drink that’ll keep you warm on these colder days.

4. Explore a maze near you

Take the family for a wander around a maze, you could even race each other to the end! If you’re looking for more of a thrill, why not try one of the haunted mazes where spooky characters wander the maze with you? Beware, it’s not for the faint hearted!

5. Decorate some pine cones

Whilst out looking for conkers, keep your eye out for pine cones too. They’re great fun to collect and make great decorations. They can be left natural to add some warm autumn vibes to your holiday home or can be spray painted to make eye catching Christmas decorations!
