Take part in a random act of kindness for World Kindness Day

Friday 13th November 2020 may be unlucky for some, but for us we’ll be celebrating World Kindness Day. With social contact to a minimum, our random acts of kindness may need to take a step in to the more creative direction in 2020, so we’ve come up with a few ways to be kind on World Kindness Day…

Be kind to neighbours

Introduce yourself to a neighbour that you’ve never spoken to – whether you’re jumping in your car, taking the bins out or taking the dog for a walk – make the effort get to know somebody knew down your street.

Be kind to friends

Organise a special gift to be sent at random to a friend. Whether it’s some locally baked treats, a new lippy to make them feel good, or a tipple for the weekend – who doesn’t love receiving a gift every now and then?

Be kind to colleagues

Send a nice message about one of your colleagues to their boss. Receiving uplifting feedback about your performance is a great morale boost – and there’s nobody better to deliver it and hear it than their manager.

Be kind to the community

Make a donation to a local charity that needs extra support this year. Choose something close to your and your communities heart, such as supporting the elderly at Christmas, making sure each child gets a Christmas gift or supporting the local soup kitchen.

Be Kind

Be kind to family

Make the effort to call a different family member every day for a week. Check in and see how they’re doing, see if they need any support and give them something to a smile about. Moments like this can really make somebody's day, and it only takes 5 minutes.

Be kind to yourself

Make sure to look after number one. Make space for a couple of hours of 'you time' and do something that makes you happy. Whether it's running a bath, reading a book, taking a long walk or visiting the beach. Many of us forget about ourselves, but some believe you can only truly help others if you're kind to yourself first.
