Time to Be with Dad: Father’s Day Weekend Activities in Yorkshire & Lancashire

Are you at our nearby to one of our Yorkshire or Lancashire parks with your Dad this Father’s Day? If so, you’re in one of the most beautiful places that the country has to offer. Lucky Dad!

Whether you want a relaxing, tranquil weekend with your old man or an activity-filled adventure, Yorkshire and Lancashire have plenty going on; here are a few Father’s Day weekend activities that might tickle your fancy. At Park Leisure, you’re in the perfect location to make memories with Dad!

1. A stroll through Malham Tarn

Surround yourselves with Yorkshire’s trademark natural beauty, grabbing some fresh air and stretching those legs. Stroll on the limestone pavements, hills and meadows - and be sure to check out the National Nature Reserve. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, there’s no shortage of cosy pubs and cafes for a relaxing refreshment.

2. Treat Dad to a meal out

If your Dad’s a food fan - and let’s be honest, most are - then taking him for a special Father’s Day meal is sure to go down well. Nearby our Yorkshire and Lancashire parks, you’re never too far from a cosy pub or exquisite restaurant - so leave Dad in no doubt about how much you appreciate him.

Depending on where abouts you are, you can’t go wrong at The Falcon Arms, The Wensleydale Heifer or The Bolton Arms.

3. Visit an Abbey

Yorkshire’s well known for its unbelievable selection of beautiful, historic sites. So if you’re planning a rather more medieval Father’s Day, be sure to check out Fountains, Bolton, Kirkstall, Byland, Whitby or Rievaulx Abbey!

4. Get on the pedals

With quiet rural roads, rolling countryside and beautiful coastline, Lancashire and Yorkshire have all the ingredients for a fantastic day out on the bike.

We’d recommend the Malham Tarn cycle route for a fairly easy ride, suitable for the casual rider. For a little bit more of a challenge, head to the 12-mile Swale Trail and lap up the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding valleys. That said, you can’t really go wrong as all of our parks are surrounded by cycling paradise!
