Top things to do in Wales at Christmas

So, what is there to do in Wales at Christmas? With the snow-capped mountains of Snowdonia, our Plas Coch and Brynteg parks make the perfect place for a traditional Christmas caravan break in Wales. Whether it’s a new year holiday with the family or cosying up in your very own home-from-home for the festive season, North Wales has something to offer for everyone in winter.

Take a ride on the Ffestiniog Railway

All aboard the Ffestiniog railway! Just 40 minutes from our Brynteg park, the Ffestiniog is a great attraction for all. With picturesque views and it’s very own steam trains, it’s a must for the whole family. In the festive season you can a ride on one of the countries most picturesque train lines through the stunning Welsh mountains whilst enjoying a mince pie, festive carols and even presents from Santa for the kids.

Boxing Day Dip in Llandudno

Join in the Boxing Day tradition and take a chilly dip in the Irish Sea. Many people choose to don their finest fancy dress for this quick, and very cool dip before heading to local venues for some festive music and a warm drink!

Victorian Christmas Market at Beaumaris Castle

20 minutes from our Plas Coch park, this festive Christmas market is a hit year after year with many of our owners. Beaumaris Castle and its stunning surroundings provide the perfect stunning backdrop for some seasonal shopping. Along with the Victorian market stalls there’s lots of festive fun and games to get involved in, from Victorian games, carol singing and of course lots of festive treats to try!

Llandudno Santa Dash

A fun event for all the family! The 5k route takes you along the front of Llandudno’s north shore. For a small entry fee, runners will receive their own Santa suit and a medal on completion. So, grab the family (even your four-legged friends) and raise some money whilst getting in the festive spirit.

Keep it cosy!

What better way to spend Christmas in North Wales?! The festive period is a great time to switch off, sit back with a nice hot drink and a book and forget about all the busyness of the period. Find yourself a cosy Welsh pub, sit by the roaring fireside with a mulled wine and make the most of the time to relax.
