Choosing your perfect holiday park

Local Area

With holiday parks across the UK, we first explore your leisure lifestyle and discuss all the things you love to do in your spare time. So, what are you looking for in a holiday park? Maybe you’d like to stroll along the beach each morning, enjoy a countryside walk with your dog, or sit on the veranda of your new holiday home in the seclusion of a stunning landscape. Whatever leisure pursuits you enjoy, when you wake up in the morning and plan your day, it’s essential to ensure your heading out from a perfect base to do all the things you love.

Location

We then take a look at the park location. Maybe there’s a location where you’ve created years of amazing holiday memories in the past or somewhere you’ve always dreamed of living. How amazing would it be to enjoy a stunning holiday with your family time after time or make it a permanent part of your retirement? Choose a location that you’ll love to revisit, and that is the perfect distance from your home, will mean that you can visit your holiday home comfortably and enjoy your new lifestyle as many times as you wish throughout the year.

It is also important to mention that, many holiday parks are not open 12 months and close for several months each year, we’d encourage you to explore a park that is open all year round to enable you to enjoy all seasons on park including Christmas and New year.

Facilities

Facilities is another key consideration. With peaceful parks providing the perfect gateway to national parks, and parks with family entertainment and leisure facilities providing a little more adventure, the park you choose should match your personality and your idea of a perfect get away. If you’re looking for family fun, stunning landscapes and a little bit of luxury with a community spirit, we’ll have the perfect park for you.

Community

Holiday park communities are a big part of an experience on park. Whether it’s just a chat with your neighbour and a friendly hello, or participating in a variety of on-park activities and social events such as Wine Clubs and Owner Parties, its great to find a park with a community of likeminded people.

Finally, when it comes to choosing a holiday park for your whole family, including your pets, be sure to find a park that it not just tolerant of pets but that it completely pet-friendly. Choose a park with full access to on-park facilities, walking trails, water stations and pet treats, and make sure your pets are welcomed on park as part of the family.

Find your holiday home from home

Now you’ve considered what you need from your holiday park, we’d now start to explore the type of holiday home.

Who would be visiting your holiday home? Do you need extra room for family and friends, space to socialise and entertain, or are cosy nights in together more of your thing? Choosing a style you love, with the right layout and features, is a really exciting part of finding your dream holiday home. We’d always advise that you visit the holiday park showground to explore the different styles of holiday homes and talk through your requirements with the holiday home advisors on park.

Whilst viewing the holiday homes on park you can also take a look around the park itself and explore the plots available on park. If you’ve always dreamt of opening your curtains to the stunning countryside or a lake view, touring the park is essential to finding the right location for your holiday home.

Once you’ve found your dream home, you’ll be all set to move in. It’s also worth checking the move in time with your holiday park, some parks can take months whilst at others you can move in within a matter of weeks.

Accreditations

We would recommend that you research your holiday park memberships and accreditations. If you’re looking for well-maintained parks with established reputations, 5-Star park accreditations and memberships to the British Holiday and Home Parks association will give you the peace of mind that you are joining a quality park with a sound reputation.

Visit the Park

As we’ve said before, do make an appointment to visit the holiday park you are interested in. This will help you to find the right park and holiday home which will appeal to your needs as well as your tastes. At the same time, you can explore the local area surrounding the park. Can you imagine the local area as your new community?

Planning your new holiday home lifestyle

When you visit the holiday park your holiday home advisor will guide you through to create the right ownership plan for you. Whether it’s a brand-new caravan holiday home, a holiday lodge or a pre-loved home, they will take you through all options available on park. Your advisor will then take you through all costs to be considered including the holiday home, park site fees, utilities to ensure that you have a clear understanding of what’s involved.

Holiday advisors will also offer the opportunity to discuss available finance options, whether you would like to offset some of the costs of holiday home ownership with a subletting scheme, and any offers available on park.

You should ensure that you understand all costs and work within a budget that right for you.

Finding the perfect holiday park is a serious business, with lots of decision-making, but it’s also lots of fun. Realising your dream of owning your own holiday home and enjoying a lifetime of holidays, all year round, whenever you fancy, is an amazing feeling.
