The days are getting longer and the weather is slowly picking up - perfect for a getaway, right? Here are a few activities in the Cornwall area that might tempt you to take an impromptu break at Oyster Bar, Par Sands or Pentire.
Make some memories this March by getting involved with some of the below.
1. St Piran’s Day
Nothing’ll get you in the Cornish spirit quite like celebrating the patron saint of Cornwall - St Piran.
Get involved with St Piran’s Day by participating in the variety of events happening throughout Cornwall; the festivities are planned to kick off on 2 March, and will take place in Bodmin Truro, Redruth, Perranporth and Penzance - keep your eyes on the event page for more information!
2. Eden Project: Plan Bee
A stone’s throw from Par Sands and our other Cornwall locations, the Eden Project is an undeniable landmark. Their Plan Bee initiative is running until 17 March, and is an exhibition of science and art, aiming to provide information on bees and other native pollinators. The initiative is bringing people together with the common goal - saving the bees!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar also pays a visit to the Eden Project in March - perfect for the little ones.
3. Boscastle Walking Week
If you’re a holiday home owner at one of our Cornish locations, you’ll be aware that Cornwall is known for its stunning coasts, but the countryside ain’t half bad, either.
Kicking off at the latter-end of March on Mother’s Day weekend (31 March, for those wondering - you’re welcome) is the Boscastle Walking Week. Run by local people, this is a fantastic way of getting out and exploring the Cornish countryside.
4. Falmouth Art Gallery
Running until the end of March is Falmouth’s Art Gallery, A Good Night. What makes it so special? Well, it’s local, and all the works have been completed between sunset and sunrise. Why not make a day of it? There’s plenty to do in Falmouth; appreciate the town’s deep natural harbour and beautiful beaches, as well as paying a visit to the National Maritime Museum! A cracking day out.
Oh, and bear in mind that there’s also the Falmouth Spring Festival and Falmouth Flower Show in March - plenty going on, for sure.
That’s not all, of course. We’ve picked out four of our favourites; why not see everything that’s on, according to VisitCornwall.com? There’s sure to be something else to tickle you and your family’s fancy.
Convinced you to leave it all behind for a quick, luxury break this March? Your relaxing, memory-filled weekend awaits - see you soon!
