Spring has officially sprung, the days are getting warmer and the flowers are in full bloom. This Easter weekend is a great chance to escape from the daily grind and unwind in and around our 12 parks, soaking up that Spring sunshine and making happy memories. The Easter Bunny has been up to his old tricks again, hiding Easter Eggs all around the country, ready for you and the family to find. If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, there’s plenty of other activities to keep you busy this weekend. From exploring the stunning British countryside to wandering the spectacular coastline, you won’t be short of things to enjoy.

We’ve picked some of our favourite Easter related and more general things to do in across the five regions our parks are located in.

Northumberland:

Explore the gardens and woodland at Seaton Delaval Hall over the Easter weekend, hunting for clues that will lead you to a delicious chocolate surprise. For a gentle walk this Easter, The Alnwick Garden’s Cherry Orchard is currently adorned with cherry blossom and looks delightfully whimsical, making it a delightful spot for a stroll.

Make sure you pay a visit to Druridge Bay over the weekend, a stunning seven mile stretch of sand running from Amble to Cresswell. Ride, cycle walk, paddle or surf your way around the bay, soaking up the peaceful nature surround you. The park includes meadows and woods to wander, a visitor centre with toilets, a cafe and gift shop, it’s the perfect destination to unwind this Easter.

North Wales:

Step back in time to 700 years ago with a visit to Beaumaris Castle this Easter weekend. Their Easter Extravaganza is suited to all ages, with fun activities planned across the whole bank Holiday weekend. From a Knight's School where both children and adults can try on armour, join in a spear drill and learn about an archers role in defending the castle, to living history demonstrations. There will also be jesters keeping you entertained as well as an Easter Egg Hunt on the Sunday and Monday!

Why not spend your Easter weekend exploring the stunning Snowdonia National Park, on the doorstep of both our North Wales parks. If you’re up for it, climb the 1,805m to the peak of Mount Snowdon (or catch the train), the views at the top are well worth the trip. Finish off the day with a well deserved, hearty meal at the pub and watch the world go by.

Enjoy a stroll through The Malvern Hills, a breathtaking natural spectacle  boasting some of the most stunning views in England, or stay in Queenswood Country Park after the Gurffolo’s picnic. You’ll be able to marvel at the 47-acre tree collection, containing over 1,200 rare and exotic trees from all over the world.

Head over to Eden’s farm themed event for both indoor and outdoor fun featuring animals, wellie wanging and of course chocolatey treats!

Make sure you spend some time with your toes in the sand, soaking up the sun on one of Cornwall’s fantastic beaches. Par Beach, Fistral Beach and Perranporth Beach are all popular destinations and for good reason. Breathe in that sea air, tuck in to some classic fish and chips and watch the boats sail by for a relaxing Easter weekend.
