Rich in culture, festivals and events, Yorkshire has some of the finest entertainment and activities for all ages this Autumn season.

Whitby Pirate Festival

6th-8th September

Ahoy me hearties! A weekend in Whitby full of fun, live music, kids entertainment and swashbuckling pirate themed activities all in aid of the RNLI.

Friday & Saturday night in The Little Angel.

Saturday & Sunday daytime at The Bandstand.

Live music from 10am-5pm.

Scarborough Jazz Festival

September 20th-22nd

A buzzing jazz line-up at Scarborough Spa has the usual exciting mix of well-established performers (but still moving forwards) and younger up-and-coming groups. 

The festival will see the Jeremy Sassoon's Ray Charles project; Jim Mullen with an all-star nine-piece band; and sax man Alan Barnes, celebrating his 60th birthday.

York Food Festival

The 2019 York Food & Drink Festival will take place 20-29 September on Parliament Street and St Sampsons Square in the centre of York.

Make sure you call by for some of the best street food the region has to offer along with a huge range of product traders throughout the ten days. We’ll have festival bars well stocked to grab a drink from on the way to check out demonstrations from some of the best chefs York and Yorkshire has to offer.

We Will Rock You Tour

September 30th - October 5th, Lyceum Sheffield

WE WILL ROCK YOU tells the story of a globalized future without musical instruments. A handful of rock rebels, the Bohemians, fight against the all-powerful Globalsoft company and its boss, the Killer Queen; they fight for freedom, individuality and the rebirth of the age of rock. Scaramouche and Galileo, two young outsiders, cannot come to terms with the bleak conformist reality. They join the Bohemians and embark on the search to find the unlimited power of freedom, love and Rock!

Cinderella by Northern Ballet

24th-28th September, Sheffield Lyceum Theatre

Escape into an enchanting winter wonderland with Northern Ballet’s beautiful reimagining of Cinderella.

Live every moment of Cinderella’s story from heartbreak to joy. In this sparkling adaptation of the classic rags-to-riches tale, Cinders is whisked away from her wicked step-mother to the glistening lake of ice where she first meets her Prince.

You won’t believe your eyes as Northern Ballet’s remarkable dancers bring their signature magic to the ultimate feel-good fairytale. The perfect entertainment for the whole family.

The Great North Art Show

August 31-22 September, Ripon Cathedral

Hundreds of artworks are exhibited in Ripon Cathedral, and the highlight this year will be a showcase of works by animal artist, Tania Still. One of the UK's foremost cartoonists, Annie Tempest, has also been invited to showcase original illustrations of her much-loved Tottering-by-Gently strip.
