Meet Lois, our brilliant Water Sports and Activity Co-ordinator at Oyster Bay. Growing up in Cornwall and Australia, it was on the coast that Lois learnt all about water sports and her passion began.
At Oyster Bay, our holiday home owners can experience the beauty of our county along with trying new activities or enhancing existing skills.
Enjoy a mixture of water sports and coastal activities that are tailored for everyone and all abilities including; surfing, paddle boarding, body boarding and open water swimming.
However, knowing that everyone isn’t always as keen in water, we also offer some land based activities. These include coastal and woodland walks, bike rides and beach fitness programmes. There is something for everyone.
Each activity we provide showcases the amazing area that Oyster Bay is set around. Picturesque beaches including the popular Perranporth Beach, The River Gannel and Crantock. As well as stunning coastal walks along the beautiful coast of Cornwall where often seals and other wildlife can be spotted.
As a 12 month holiday park, you can enjoy your holiday home and the amazing Cornish landscapes 365 days a year.
Throughout the year we host special activities across the calendar which include, a sunrise or sunset paddle board, pub to pub coastal walks, New Year sea dip, ladies body boarding sessions and Christmas surfs!
Each month a list of all water sports and activities are sent out for all owners.

Cornwall is one of the UKs top destinations for watersports, with hundreds of beaches to choose from. Our local beaches, Crantock and Perranporth, are popular for surfing, bodyboarding, paddle boarding and open sea swimming. Many holiday goers flee to Cornwall every summer to try their hand at coasteering, windsurfing, snorkelling and kayaking and, but by far we’d say surfing and paddleboarding are the most popular water sports in Cornwall.
Our water sports instructor, Lois, teaches those of all abilities – so no experience necessary here at Oyster Bay. Whether you want help swimming in the sea or try your hand at catching the waves of a surfboard; Lois is happy to help you reach your goals.
We always ensure that safety equipment is worn; whether you are a child or an adult. Lois is always close by too, so rest assured that your child is in safe hands and never far from an adult – you can even come along to see your child too.
We allow up to 6 people per session for paddle boarding, and up to 4 people per session for surfing and bodyboarding – so the whole family can join in the fun and make a splash.
