Coastal & Woodland Walks

However, knowing that everyone isn’t always as keen in water, we also offer some land based activities. These include coastal and woodland walks, bike rides and beach fitness programmes. There is something for everyone.

Each activity we provide showcases the amazing area that Oyster Bay is set around. Picturesque beaches including the popular Perranporth Beach, The River Gannel and Crantock. As well as stunning coastal walks along the beautiful coast of Cornwall where often seals and other wildlife can be spotted.

FAQs

What are the most popular water sports in Cornwall?

Cornwall is one of the UKs top destinations for watersports, with hundreds of beaches to choose from. Our local beaches, Crantock and Perranporth, are popular for surfing, bodyboarding, paddle boarding and open sea swimming. Many holiday goers flee to Cornwall every summer to try their hand at coasteering, windsurfing, snorkelling and kayaking and, but by far we’d say surfing and paddleboarding are the most popular water sports in Cornwall.

 Do I need any experience?

Our water sports instructor, Lois, teaches those of all abilities – so no experience necessary here at Oyster Bay. Whether you want help swimming in the sea or try your hand at catching the waves of a surfboard; Lois is happy to help you reach your goals.

How safe are water sports for children?

We always ensure that safety equipment is worn; whether you are a child or an adult. Lois is always close by too, so rest assured that your child is in safe hands and never far from an adult – you can even come along to see your child too.

Are all activities covered within the site fees?

Yes! All activities and even equipment such as wet suits and surf boards to borrow are included within your site fees. All you have to do is book your slot in advance with Lois and you’re all set to go, no payments or deposits needed.

How many people can participate in activities?

We allow up to 6 people per session for paddle boarding, and up to 4 people per session for surfing and bodyboarding – so the whole family can join in the fun and make a splash.
